威廉·布萊克（WilliamBlake，1757~1827）是十九世紀詩人，英國第一位重要的浪漫主義詩人。主要詩作有詩集《天真之歌》《經驗之歌》等。早期作品簡潔明快，中後期作品趨向玄妙晦澀，充滿神秘色彩。布萊克一生都保持着宗教、政治和藝術上的激進傾向。他濃厚的宗教意識、藝術家的天分和豐富的人生閱曆，給他的詩歌提供了取之不盡的創作源泉，并使它的詩歌具有明顯的宗教性、預言性、哲理性和藝術性等幾大特點。他對英國詩歌，特别是浪漫主義詩歌所作出的貢獻是有目共睹的。其前期詩作主要包括《詩歌素描》、《天真之歌》及《經驗之歌》等。

 
To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.
A robin redbreast in a cage
Puts all heaven in a rage.

A dove-house fill'd with doves and pigeons
Shudders hell thro' all its regions.
A dog starv'd at his master's gate
Predicts the ruin of the state.
A horse misused upon the road
Calls to heaven for human blood.
Each outcry of the hunted hare
A fibre from the brain does tear.
A skylark wounded in the wing,
A cherubim does cease to sing.
The game-cock clipt and arm'd for fight
Does the rising sun affright.
Every wolf's and lion's howl
Raises from hell a human soul.
