表示“堅信”概念的情感型使動詞，王要有convince，assure等，例如：

（我們未能使他确認他的錯誤。）

（9）恐吓：

表示“恐吓”概念的情感型使動詞，主要有frighten， scare，terrify，petrify，horrify，alarm，awe，appal 等，例如：

114） a．The big dog frightened the little girl．

b．The little girl was frightened by the big dog．

（這條大狗把小女孩吓壞了。）

115） a．The thunder scared the little child．

b．The little child was scared by the thunder．

（雷聲把這個小孩吓壞了。）

116） a．The strange noise scared the children．

b．The children were scared at the strange noise．

（這個奇怪的聲音把孩子們吓一跳。）

117）a．The thought of flying terrified her so much that she decided to go by train．

b．She was so much terrified at the thought of flying that she decided to go by train．

（她一想到坐飛機就心裡害怕，所以就決定坐火車去。）
