That wisdom preserves the life of its possessor.

惟獨智慧能保全智慧人的生命。--《舊·傳》7:21 47

Wisdom is better than weapons of war.

智慧勝過打仗的兵器。--《舊·傳》9:18 149 

A little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.

一點愚昧,也能敗壞智慧和尊榮。--《舊·傳》10:1

More strength is needed but skill will bring success.

得智慧指教,便有益處。--《舊·傳》10:10

Words from a wise man's mouth are gracious, but a fool is consumed by his own lips.

智慧人的口,說出恩言。愚昧人的嘴,吞滅自己。--《舊·傳》10:12 078 

Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.

愚昧人若靜默不言,也可算為智慧。閉口不說,也可算為聰明。--《舊·箴》17:28

Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?  

年老的有智慧,壽高的有知識。--《舊·伯》12:12

For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief.

因為多有智慧,就多有愁煩。加增知識的,就加增憂傷。--《舊·傳》1:18

Wisdom is better than folly, just as light is better than darkness.

智慧勝過愚昧,如同光明勝過黑暗。--《舊·傳》2:13

The wise man has eyes in his head, while the fool walks in the darkness.

智慧人的眼目光明,愚昧人在黑暗裡行。--《舊·傳》2:14

Wisdom is proved right by her actions.

智慧之子,總以智慧為是。--《新·太》11:19

Man does not comprehend its worth.  

智慧的價值無人能知。--《舊·伯》28:13

 



The price of wisdom is beyond rubies.  

智慧的價值勝過珍珠。--《舊·伯》28:18

It is not only the old who are wise, not only the aged who understand what is right.  

尊貴的不都有智慧。壽高的不都能明白公平。--《舊·伯》32:9

Age should speak; advanced years should teach wisdom.  

年老的當先說話。壽高的當以智慧教訓人。--《舊·伯》32:7

The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, but the heart of fools is in the house of pleasure.

智慧人的心,在遭喪之家。愚昧人的心,在快樂之家。--《舊·傳》7:4

The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just.  

義人的口談論智慧,他的舌頭講說公平。--《舊·詩》37:30

Turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding,  

側耳聽智慧,專心求聰明。--《舊·箴》2:2

For she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.  

因為得智慧勝過得銀子,其利益強如精金。--《舊·箴》3:14

Wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion.  

智慧以靈明為居所,又尋得知識和謀略。--《舊·箴》8:12

whoever is led astray by them is not wise.

因酒錯誤的,就無智慧。--《舊·箴》20:1
